At Fairfield House School, no two pupils follow the same journey — because no two pupils are the same.
Every young person who joins us arrives with their own strengths, interests, experiences and needs. Many have faced disrupted education or have found previous settings overwhelming. That is why our starting point is always the individual.
Each pupil has a bespoke curriculum shaped around their EHCP outcomes, developmental stage and personal aspirations. Rather than fitting children into a rigid model, we adapt the curriculum to fit them.
We use the EQUALS curriculum framework to support pupils working at all levels. This allows us to focus on early communication, cognition, sensory engagement and functional learning in ways that are meaningful and accessible. For some pupils, progress may be measured through academic attainment; for others, it may be increased engagement, improved communication, or greater emotional regulation.
Small class sizes and strong staff-pupil relationships enable us to truly understand how each pupil learns best. Regular reviews ensure learning remains responsive and ambitious.
Most importantly, we celebrate every step forward. Progress is not always linear — but every achievement, however small, matters.
